Stop saying that Doctor Who carried the torch. Let Matt Smith have this. He even said that he was not running in costume, that this was Matt Smith carrying the torch. Let him have this amazing privilege.

Besides, in the show’s canon, it was TEN that carried it. If they could have gone all-out with their nerdy side, and gotten David Tennant to do it (and in costume), THEN you can say that The Doctor carried the torch.
Otherwise, yeah, it was Matt Smith. I’m super happy for him, he looked like he had fun doing it. But, as far as I’m concerned, nope, not “The Doctor” there.
